Since Prof. W.F.Chen presented "Advanced analysis theory of steel frame", many people devoted themselves in this theory study and hoped to optimize the traditional design theories by advanced analysis. The theory firstly accomplishes strength theory, buckling theory and plastic theory in one-step structure analysis, and it avoids disadvantages of separately considering the three theories. For developing deeply advanced analysis theory in three dimension space it is necessary to get plentiful experiment study. This paper is about the spatial semi-rigid joints experiments that is a part of national natural science foundation-Advanced Analysis Theory of Steel Structure in Three Dimension Space. In recent years, people realized destructive force of the earthquake deeply and the advantages of semi-rigid connection in the multistory steel structures. Semi-rigid connections have stability hysteretic behavior and good energy-dissipation under the earthquake load. Besides, they have good economy efficiency and widespread use. So the study about special semi-rigid joints is of great theoretical and realistic significant. This paper is the further experiment work based on the result and experiment had achieved. In the experiment about the edge-columns (two symmetrical beams about strong-axis adopting high-strength bolt end-plate connection and one beam about weak-axis adopting top-seat-angle connection) and the corner columns (one beam about strong-axis and one beam about weak-axis), there are three steps: first, static loading on beam about strong-axis, second, low-cycle loading on beam about weak-axis, last going on the test on static loading on beam about strong-axis. As a result we get the seismic performance including the hysteretic curves, skeleton curves and stiffness degradation curves of the beam about weak-axis and so on. Meanwhile we get the M-θ curves and compare them with the M-θ curves of the beams in the planar joints, and then explore the influence each other between strong-axis connection and weak-axis connection in spatial joints. Besides, analyze the edge column model with finite element software (ANSYS) and the results of the stress distribution, the trend of plasticity advancement and so on, and then compare them with the results of experiment. At last, this paper summed up the experiment and finite element analytic results and put forward a few proposals. This paper establishes a theoretical base for further studying advanced analysis theory of steel structure in three dimension space and offers experimental basis for the later study work.
