Calcining or dry kiln with high-accuracy temperature control is the important craft equipment in the mineral processing engineering. The existing small-size rotary kiln used in laboratory is in low precision in temperature control and difficult in manipulating. So a new type of effective heating kiln should be researched and developed. On the basis of studying the thermal technology craft and rotary kiln,designing a new type of device to substitute the existing small-size rotary kiln.The design is focused on the measurement and control of the temperature in the device. The designs of structure and organization of the kiln should meet the needs of measuring and controlling. According to the temperature field within the rotary kiln, the whole kiln's body is divided into three sections in heating way and the temperature of each section's central point is controlled. The new device is powered by pneumatic equipment like viberating kiln. The special-purpose accurate temperature of measuring of data collecting card of electric thermocouple is used for temperature measurement. Because the controlled target is complicatedly and changeably, traditional PID controls can't meet the need of high-accuracy temperature control. Temperature control is executed by fuzzy self-adapting PID control algorithm, combining fuzzy control dynamically adjust PID controller's P,I ,D parameter to meet the need of the controls.Measuring and control software is LabVIEW IDE developed by America National Instrument Company. The control programme script is written in Matlab. The control programme uses the ActiveX technology of LabVIEW to transfer Matlab script. Take advantage of the strong power of Matlab in data processing and control system toolbox to control step-kiln's temperature accurately.
