Songyuan Interchange locates at the west of Songyuan city. It is a large-scale interchange crossed five roads which include Changchun to Baicheng first-class highway of national road 302, Mingcheng to Shenyang first-class highway of national road 203 and the western section of first-class highway of Songyuan around city road. Changchun to Baicheng first-class highway of national road 302 is the contrasting project. Mingcheng to Shenyang highway of national 203 is the planning project in the near future and is the second-class highway at present. The western section of Songyuan around city road is the planning project at a specified future date.Basing on the analysis of the type and characters of interchange, the setup and type selection are explained. Contraposing the transverse and longitudinal content of interchange design theory, the problems which need solve in the four phases of interchange design is expounded.It is expounded that important plane and vertical alignment design principles, technical criterions and design methods of ramps. Brief introduction is given to the design outline of ramp nose and speed-change lane. Al these provide theoretic base for the design of this interchange engineering.Considering the traffic volume distribution of the interchange, the grade is determined. Combining the character that he interchange includes not only the constructing project but also the planning project in the near future and at a specified future date, the main problem of this interchange is decided to find a feasible planning which can be divided into three periods to finish and reduce the construction cost in general scale.
