With the development of the science, the application of DCS is mature in the field of electric power more and more. At present, the fossil fuel power plant of 600MW unit is built enormously in the new time of power construction, which has new technological characters in operation, control and information system, especially puts on the requisitions of safety and cost for operation. So the system simulation of power plant must have new standard and new technology and must contains all I/O signals for fulfills these requisitions; uses real logic control, sets the same function modules and control parameters. As a result, it is best for the system simulation of power plant (600MW unit) to use"Virtual DCS"technology.The high fidelity simulation of ANHUI PINWEI power plant (2X600MW units) is based on the Virtual DCS technology and simulates the I/A Series DCS of Foxboro Company, which is the first virtual DCS in China. The article that is based on the engineering project explains"Virtual DCS"technology and gives the total design plan. Then explains that how to program the classes of function modules in the I/A Series DCS based on the OOP technology and the communication interface between real CP in the I/A Series DCS and virtual DCS control programs based on the FoxAPI functions.All programs are based on Windows 2000 interface and Visual C++ 6.0 interface. The article introduces the plans and results of program testing. Presently all programs are compiled and test successfully, but need to continue improving the details during the project testing. And the article has already point out these deficiencies that can be improved in the future.
