Cable dome is a new prestressed structural form comprised of cables,struts and membranes. Cable dome can use steel's tensional strength efficiently; its weight is very light; Cable dome has good local stability and overall stability. So Cable dome is appropriate for large span roof structures very much. The studies on cable domes have been going on in world wide size for many years, but it is still insufficient.The anthor of this thesis looks up much foreign literature and some valuable theses written by Chinese researchers and carefully studys Cable dome, and summarizes some characteristics and classification of Cable dome, and knows about the situation of Cable dome abroad and home, and analyzes research focuses of Cable dome. Based on these, the contents of study are ascertained. This thesis has studyed static behavior of Levy system Cable dome and mastered it; some basic parameters have been ascertained in reason. Static behavior analysis includes modeling,formfinding,load-analysis, in which formfinding is finished by reverse interative method. Using parameter analysis way,this thesis has studied Levy system Cable domes fully whose spans are 60m,80m and 100m considering some basic parameters such as rise-span ratio,number of rings,number of nodes at each ring and so on,and educed some rules about displacement,amount of using steel. At last this thesis has given some advice about the parameter choices.This thesis has collected some joints design information of Levy system Cable dome and analysed their characteristics. this thesis has designed a simple joint mode considering some requirements such as pin joint,transferring force suitably,simple conformation and supplied some references for project practice. This thesis has studied Levy system Cable dome's tension and simulated 24 tension schemes by using finite element analysis software. Feasibility of tension is evaluated by analyzing their change rules of internal force.
