In recent years, with the formation wide-area measurement system (WAMS), the data that can be gained increases exponentially, but there is not an effective method to utilize the deeper-level information hidden in the data. Therefore, this article proposes a time process-oriented analysis method, has studied the basic theory systematically and conducts an adaptability research on it.Firstly, this article has studied the power system process characteristics thoroughly, defined the concept of"the time process"in the power system for the first time, and studied the essential factors of time process thoroughly, proposed the essential principle and the essential method of time process-oriented analysis and so on.Secondly, with the aid of the cluster analysis technology, by making full use of rich power system information data, this article has carried on the time process division and feature-model distilling on typical day. Based on the load active power alteration and the voltage undulation, this article proposes an evaluating index of neighboring cross-section distance, and has carried on the time process preliminary division. After that, it applies a heuristic method to carry on the revision, until obtains the number assigned. In terms of meaning of time process feature-model, by applying the knowledge of probability and mathematical statistics, we gets the expectation cross-section which presents the economy; using an evaluating indicator that reflects the line load level and the node voltage departure from rating, has found feature-model in time process which presents security including the maximal cross-section and the minimal cross-section.Thirdly, based on a performance index that reflects the severity of contingence, this article carries on contingence screening and sorting, and obtains the contingence sorting table.Finally, this article has carried on time process-oriented N-1 static security analysis and control , and confirmed the validity of time process-oriented concept. A performance index is proposed that is used to presents the validity of feature-model.
