So the IAQ (indoor air quality) has much effect on the healthiness. With the development of economy, people need more comfortable environment. Nowadays, the residential buildings increased rapidly in China. The problems of IAQ caused by decoration appeared somewhere. Natural ventilation can improve the IAQ in residential buildings. As a ventilation strategy of energy saving and enviroment protecting it plays an important role in providing good indoor air quality and thermal comfort of the occupants. Natural ventilation is a very attractive solution to ensure both good indoor air quality and acceptable comfort conditions in many regions。The outdoor environment and the structure of the building effect natural ventilation. Some design of buildings pay most attention to the athetics, but the natural ventilaiton is ignored in the design. The area of open window is too small to ventilation sufficiently. The windows as main wind gaps in building will effect the indoor airflow very much. The indoor air flow field is effected by the open area,the turn-on method and the angle of the window. The paper simulated various windows by the software named Airpak2.0. The solution of simulation is vertified by the experiment. A source giving off CO2 is used as a contamination source in the simulation and the experiment. The contents of study are as follows: (1) the concentration of contamination and mean air age is various when the window-floor-rate is different. (2) Various indoor air flow field will be achieved with different structure of window. Different structures of window were simulated in the paper(3) When the sructure of the window is changeless, the angle of the window sash will effect the concentration of contamination. CO2 concentration is studied when the open angle of the window sash is changed.The research on the window analyses some factors has effect on the ventilation efficiency and the indoor air quality. The result is helpful to make better use of natural ventilation.
