Magnetic field measurement technology is an important means in researching the magnetism and related physical phenomenon and gradually becomes an independent branch of science. It often plays a conclusive role in the domain of national defense building, science research, daily living etc. Some factors such as measurement method, precision and economy etc. will immediately determine the utility and generalization of instruments. Therefore it is significant to research and develop high precision and sensitivity, good stabilization and easy handle magnetic field measurement instruments.This paper describes the development of a set of magnetic field measurement based on virtual instruments. An idea based on the principles of virtual instruments and its modular programming design methods is proposed and realized by means of a personal computer with a DAQ (data Acquisition Board) and their interface circuits. The software of the instrument is developed on LabVIEW platform. By data acquisition and recording the parameters of the magnetic fields, this system can implement the real-time data processing functions, including the display of the real-time signal, the storage of the data obtained, the reappearance of past signal and the 3D display of planar magnetic field. The new system has been tested in the external magnetic field measurement of"Meng Shen"sleeping promoter, and the prospective results are obtained.The methods of magnetic field measurement and the development state of measurement instruments are introduced firstly in this paper. Subsequently, the theories on which this measurement system is based on and the general idea of virtual instruments are stated. And then the theories of the hardware system and its realization are given. 3D sensor promotes the precision of the system.
