Since the outbreak of oil crisis in last century, people has aware of the importance of energy saving, and has found lots of ways to save energy. Some of these ways made indoor air quality that already not so well even worse, which caused much problems of health. After the crisis of SARS, this problem is prominent. For the reason, many countries call for increasing the volume rate of fresh air, and it cause the rise of air-conditioning load. In this circumstance, a kind of heat recovery apparatus that exchange heat and moisture between fresh air and exhaust air has been appeared in HVAC industry, which called total heat exchanger。 The energy saving principle of total heat exchanger is that it use discharge air to precool or preheat fresh air which can reduce the load of fresh air and save energy. Sensible heat efficiency and latent heat efficiency are two critical evaluating indicators of total heat exchanger. These two evaluating indicators are not constant, they have relation with working condition. In this thesis, working condition that influence the two evaluating indicators has been analyzed on basis of experiment study. Statistics has been used to deal with the experiment data, and work out a expressions that can count the real time efficiency of total heat exchanger from temperature difference and absolute humidity difference of inside and outside air and working air volume. Yearly real time air conditioning load after using total heat exchanger was compared with the load without total heat exchanger by building simulating software. A year round energy consumption has been counted on the basis of influence of chiller performance and water pump performance caused by reduction of air conditioning load. Energy consumption with and without total heat exchanger was counted and compared by method of comparative analysis.A brief discussion of next step of work was taken at last.
