The buildings sector account for more than 30% of the overall energy consumption in China,while heating and air conditioning energy consumption account for 55% of the building energy consumption.In the heating and air conditioning energy consumption,fresh air load accounts the most(30% to 40%).Under the background of advocating low-carbon life,reducing the fresh air load is particularly critical.Among all the methods,the most important means to reduce the fresh air load is the use of fresh air heat exchanger.Since the heat recovery energy of the fresh air heat exchanger varies on many factors and the fresh air heat exchanger cost energy itself,it is necessary to optimize the operation of the air heat exchanger.In this paper,a series of studies on the application of a normal 300 air volume heat exchanger which run in office buildings in different climatic regions are made.Firstly,the air volume,power consumption,noise and heat exchange efficiency of the fresh air heat exchanger were experimented according to the standard.Based on the actual measurement parameters,the system model of the fresh air heat exchanger which has been verified correct is established by using TRNSYS(transient system simulation computer program).What's more,office buildings in five typical cities(Shenyang,Beijing,Chongqing,Guangzhou,Kunming)which adequately represent its climate zone,are chosen to install the fresh air heat exchanger.By using TRNSYS,the energy saving of the fresh air heat exchanger in each period of time was obtained respectively.The power consumption and reasonable operation strategy of the fresh air heat exchanger in each climate zone has been proposed.Finally,by comparing energy saving of the fresh air heat exchanger in two citys(Beijing,Xian)which are both in the cold area,one conclusion is drawn that even in one climate zone,the fresh air heat exchanger in each city has its own characters.
