Pushover procedure is considered as an efficient tool in Performance-based design methodology which push structures with some kind of load patterns until target displacement is reached. This method can evaluate the structural performance under earthquake events. During the recent years, although many scholars have been doing a lot of work about pushover procedure, there are still many problems when this method is used in structural analysis. The main work of this dissertation is to study its application in shear-wall structural system from several aspects.Actually, pushover procedure is a kind of nonlinear static analysis, the result's accuracy will be influenced by the primary structural members' simulation. This dissertation begins from the element models and material models, discusses the rational model for the basic members: beam, column and shear-wall. And especially several macroscopical models for shear-wall are compared, which neglect wall's out-plane rigidity that will impact the structure's dynamic property in some cases. Then the multi-component-in-parallel model is improved by adding rotation springs out of plane, and its element stiffness matrix is deduced, one numerical analysis example tells its primary rationality. The pushover procedure of whole structure with six different commercial software is compared, and the shortcoming of each software when treating the shear-wall's non-linearity is nailed down. Due to it is difficult to simulate the property of reinforced concrete if line element is used for beam, column, and shell element for shear wall, one new method is developed to handle this difficulty which is named "different section zone with different material" model, and its validity is approved by comparing several numerical analysis and according tests. In the fifth section pushover procedure is conducted to a 15-storey frame-shear wall structure, and different parameters' impact to the calculation result is discussed from five aspects: element mode, material mode, floor mode, software selection and comparison with time history analysis, and some suggestion is give out in the end. Finally, three other problems about pushover procedure is discussed preliminarily:...
