Xiangan district plays a special role in Xiamen City's global development strategy. The water demand in Xiangan will be growth greatly as the progress in economy and town construction. The project of water supply engineering in Xiangan will enhance the water supply capacity of the town, and speed up the development of local countryside. The water supply engineering will also live the life standards of local residents, and keep up sociality stability.This paper studies on the feasibility of the project and makes the decisions which includes the water demand forecast, selection of water resources, layout of pipe line, plant location, water treatment technology and investment analysis.It is very difficult to compare various feasible programs in the planning of water supply engineering; this is because the data involving the engineering could not be easily collected. Three schemes of main conduits layout, named south line, middle line and north line, are discussed by comparison of technical-economical index, and the best scheme is suggested. On other hand, some important factors, such as water plant location, selection of water treatment technology and treatment equipment, are also considered. The matter discussed in the paper involves all key points in water supply engineering.The best scheme suggested in the paper is feasible and reasonable in technology, it will reduce the engineering investment, also the operational energy is saved.
