With the development of solar technology and the industry related to solar, solar water heater, solar air-conditioner and other solar products are used by people in a growing number. It is reported that there has been low-volume solar photovoltaic (PV) refrigerators abroad, but these products are underdeveloped in contrast with that in foreign countries, so it is necessary to give more detailed study on a solar PV refrigerator system. For one thing, it is very important for the improvement of the people's living conditions and medical conditions in the areas where the grid is unavailable, such as remote mountainous areas, pasture areas and some inlands and islets and so on. For another, the study will support the more comprehensive application of solar PV refrigeration in the future to certain extent.The following studies of a solar PV DC refrigerator are carried out about energy management and system matching, and the results from the studies can be absolutely used to other similar solar PV DC systems that the amount of electricity from the PV panel matches well the cooling capacity required by the system, such as a solar PV DC top opening freezer or a solar PV DC cold storage and so on.First, some study on the background of the advancement of solar technology, the theory and the status quo of solar PV panel, solar PV refrigeration and so on is introduced.
