The protective relay plays an important role in ensuring the safe operating of the power systems. Therefore, people spend much time in investigating these devices. Many problems often occur in the process of analyzing the faults and running these devices due to the hardware nature of the protection devices. For example, it is difficult to trace through the logic schemes and the time sequences of them, which results in the difficulty of analyzing the mis–operations of the protective relays. On the other hand, it is time-consuming and expensive to investigate the dynamic characteristic of the protection devices and new theory by the means of developing hardware prototype. The same problem takes place when these devices have to be tested for many times in order to ensure the transient characteristics and the devices need to be connected in simulation system to evaluate the influence of them, which act on the system stability. In a word, it is time-consuming and expensive to develop an actual protection device and evaluate it.The simulation system of protective relay takes effectively advantage of modern digital protection technology, digital simulation technology...
