With the rapid development of the world economy and rapidly improving technologylevels, the demands for the car are increasing. Increase in consumer demand for cars, whilethe optional car function for active safety and passive safety is more valued, it is increasinglybecoming an important basis for consumers to buy cars. Anti-lock technology is an importantpart of vehicle active safety technology. Automotive ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) is avehicle safety control system which is enough to effectively shorten the braking distance andimprove stability when braking. In recent years, as consumers increasingly focus on drivingsafety, the most car’s systems include the anti-lock system (ABS) as standard. The ABSperformance directly affects the braking performance of the car, thus detecting automotiveanti-lock system (ABS) performance has a very important practical significance. In this article, a single wheel vehicle model, tire model and braking system model arecreated firstly, and by using MATLAB SIMULINK module to simulate ideal ABS brakingprocess. Then, ABS hardware systems are built on the basis of LabVIEW virtual instrumentsoftware to test the performance of ABS system. By using the virtual instrument softwaredata acquisition, data storage, signal filtering, generating reports and other modules aredesigned. The time curve of the slip rate, wheel line speed, braking distance are shown on thePC front panel to analyze and evaluate the vehicle’s dynamic performance status of thesystem. Tests proved that the system can achieve rapid detection and has some practicalsignificance.
