Flexible AC Transmission System (FACTS) provides an effective way to improve the security,economy reliability and quality of modern power systems. Application of Static Var Compensator(SVC) ,one kinds of Flexible AC Transmission System (FACTS) ,is one method to deal with voltage fluctuation.SVC is a reactive power which can adjust quickly,and it can improve the voltage stability and increase the capacity of transmission power.The electric auxiliary system sometimes has condenser motor loads,and the starting of inductor motors can cause bus voltage fluctuation problem. Applications of static Var compensator is one of methods dealing with the problem. this paper applicating static Var compensator or AVR to the minhang power plant, and studies the influence of improving voltage stability and reactive compensation. The simulation results propose:voltage stability of electric auxiliary system is improved after the power station applicating SVC and AVR,and minimizes both of starting periods of inductor motors and the bus voltage fluctuation and...
