The optic-electronic range-finder, as the length measuring instrument, in the geodetic survey, the ordinary and the engineering survey, obtains the widespread application. The precision of optic-electronic range-finder is the primary factor to affect the accuracy and reliability of measurement result. Along with the people's urgent requirements to the advancement, accuracy and validity of detection device for optic-electronic range-finder day by day, using the original hand-moved reflector, the manual measuring and the data recording detection methods are difficult to guarantee the precision and efficiency.In view of the present situation, using the high accuracy dual-frequency laser interferometer as the detection reference meter, the automation detection system for optic-electronic range-finder is constructed. In the paper, we analyzed the primary factor to affect the movement stability of the measuring workbench in the detection system.In view of the contradiction between the long distance examination and the drive type of measuring workbench, we have proposed the resolution on the measuring workbench by the small self-propelled car, and have analyzed the attentions in the self-propelled vehicle designing. In view of the contradiction between the guideway precision and length, which is in the examination process, method of multi-stage guide rail to splice and adjust section by section is proposed. We have selected reasonable velocity curve for step motor, carried on the variable motion control to it, so as to realize the pinpointing for the measuring workbench. And we have researched and developed the real-time control software which is based on the hierarchical structure with good user's interface and perfect function, as that we realized the automation for the detection flow control and the data processing process.After the theoretical analysis and the practice confirmation, the detection system, which this article designed ,obviously enhanced the detection reference meter precision, guideway linearity and the sampling point location accuracy, a series of main detection procedures on computer control integration work,which include data acquisition in the optic-electronic range-finder detection, the reflector automatic positioning and the data processing, the examination result computation and the data management ,and so on, are realized, the detection precision and efficiency have been increased. This detection method has provided the powerful technical support to each kind of mapping work, has important practical significance.
