The establishment of the modern medicinal pattern which core is about physiology- psychology- sociology's health conception is producing far-reaching influence in every field. It's getting more and more noticed about how to design hospital. The author chooses the public space of compositive hospital's clinic as a research object. The public space of clinic is very important in the compositive hospital, so it will be typical significance that researches this kind of space.The dissertation suggests that space design should be started with the space behavior of space users and emphasizes mutual connection between behavior and design. Based on space behavior, the dissertation also expatiates on the public space of compositive hospital's clinic in different level.The dissertation contains five chapters. Chapter one expounds the emergence and development of medicinal pattern and the demands that modern medicinal pattern offers to the public space of compositive hospital's clinic; Chapter two puts the conception of space behavior and explains the major significance of space behavior, being the crucial element in space design; Chapter three, four and five respectively discuss the space design on three level, those are space frame, space element and space interface.The dissertation not only emphasizes design thoughtway but also attach importance to design method, and make some appraisements and suggestions of design method for the different level of space design. The dissertation is based upon domestic hospital cases. Certainly, there are some overseas excellent hospital cases to be the necessary supplement.
