With the development of society and the putting forward of the theory of FACTS, there have higher standard for the quality, stability and reliability of power supply. Hybrid power electronics breaker makes use of power electronics component to design converting device on the foundation of traditional breaker, and can effectively improve the switch speed and using life of traditional breaker.This paper discusses the design of power electronics converting device and emphasizes the design of driving circuit, protecting circuit and the research of series and parallel connection technology of IGBT.The introduction of this paper describes the background significance, advantages and working principle of the hybrid power electronics breaker, and then points out the research content and pending problems.Chapter two discusses the theoretical gists of the choice of the power electronics component, compares with the performance of GTR, MOSFET and IGBT.Chapter three discusses the demand and design of the IGBT's driving circuit.Chapter four discusses the design of the IGBT's protecting circuits, including over-voltage protecting circuit, over-current protecting circuit and over-heat protecting measurements.Chapter five discusses the series and parallel connection technology of IGBT.In the end, the paper concludes the main work and the work to be continued of it.
