In recent years, with increasing investment in highway construction in China, more and more highway researchers began to pay more attention to the pavement structure design research of low-volume road. Because of lack of fund, the low-volume road has long had such defects in the respect of design and so forth, thus causing its service life relatively short. Based on this fact, this paper has mainly conducted research on the low-volume roads'typical pavement structure in the following several aspects:Firstly, through the investigation on traffic composition and the volume of traffic of the low-volume road in Anhui Province, the main traffic composition and the volume of traffic level of the present low-volume road has been grasped. Based on this, the reasonable division of the low-volume road's volume of traffic rank was carried on.Secondly, through the investigation on low-volume road performance of Anhui Province, main problem of the present low-volume road was discovered, the possible reason which created these problems was analyzed and the reasonable material which might be used on the low-volume road was grasped.Thirdly, through experimental study in the basic performance of the low dosage cement stabilized crushed stones, the low dosage cement stabilized crushed stones structural design parameter was proposed. The triaxial test of the low dosage cement stabilized crushed stones which did not satisfy our country standard intensity request was carried on, and the module model as well as the angle of internal friction and the cohesive force parameter were obtained. At the same time the material parameter, the reasonable gradation and the module suggestion of granular materials were proposed.Finally, the positive and negative aspects of foreign low-volumn road pavement structure design method were analyzed, and a typical pavement structure design proposal of the low volume road was put forward. Based on this, a typical pavement structure of the low-volume road under the different volume of traffic rank and the different earthen foundation rank was recommended.
