The quantity of vehicle is increasing quickly with the development of society so that there are more and more difficulties for road traffic and vehicle management. How to manage effectively the vehicles to enhance the effectiveness and decrease expenditure becomes very important. On the other hand, communication and information technologies are developing very quickly. It is possible now to bring up a new and powerful vehicle management and surveillance system with information and automation. The security is an important part in the information technologies so the main task of the thesis is to research the security mechanism and the vehicle management systems based on Bluetooth technology. As a result of the research work, the vehicle management systems have been developed and applied to Post Vehicle Intelligence Management System.There are six chapters in the thesis as follows.In the first chapter, the background of the project is introduced and the features of the vehicle management systems are described. Then the configuration of this thesis is given.Some intelligence vehicle management systems such as parking and traffic are discussed in Chapter 2. The structures, working flow and characteristics of them are given. The wireless data transmissions are based on Bluetooth technology.In Chapter 3, the key technologies including security, frequency hopping, piconet and scatternet are discussed. They are the main flags differing from other wireless technology and the foundations for next chapters.The stream algorithms are studied in Chapter 4. The encryption system to DES (Data Encryption Standard), RSA of public key cryptosystem and PGP standard are analyzed in detail. The analysis in this chapter will be the theory foundation for the application in the next chapter.The application for data transmission based on Bluetooth is emphasized in Chapter 5. The software and hardware about this application are developed. The security mechanism for Bluetooth is analyzed. The Data encryption algorithm based on RSA is presented.The realization of the Post Vehicle Management and Surveillance System is proposed in Chapter 6. First, the configuration and flowchart of system are designed. And then the development of hardware about vehicle card and station box is given.In the end, the results of the project and thesis are summarized.
