The Critical Regionalism And Relevant Leads Of Chinese Architecture Practice

Along with the modernization process of human society, a great lot of modern architectures without any individuation are destroying the original texture of cities; and issues such as energy shortage, environment pollution and housing shortage etc have greatly influenced human viability and development.Under this background, and from an angle of view of nature, culture and technology, this paper introduces "the Critical Regionalism" design theory. And through analyzing and researching so foreign architectures that features Regionalism characters, this paper reveals the current development and trend of foreign architectures. Meanwhile, based on analysis, self-reflection and criticism of current state of Chinese cities. This paper means to look for the leads for the relevant contemporary Chinese architecture practice at its initial and developing stage, and try to summarize the design principles with regional characters that fit into Chinese nature and culture characters by category and analysis of these architectures. Therefore, the paper gives an answer to theoretic and practice integration in scale Chinese cities' mass construction. Otherwise, via design research of writer's practical cases, this paper introduce the practical reference and application of the Critical Regionalism theory.
