Design Research And Practices Of Critical Regionalism In Architectural Renovation

This article looks at the essence through phenomena and breaks away from the traditional discussion framework from the perspective of individual trivial phenomena.It makes two academic inductions: one is the unified appeal of rationalism,the other is the individual appeal of empiricism.Three kinds of "narrow regionalism" are introduced in detail in order to distinguish them academically from "critical regionalism" and to justify the "critical" viewpoint in "critical regionalism".It advocates that under the guidance of critical regionalism architectural thought,the regional relationship between architecture and region should be re-emphasized in an objective and reasonable way.It advocates that architectural design,while learning the latest results of global civilization,consciously seeks to integrate with the natural environment,cultural traditions,technology and art of the region.This paper discusses the research and development of local experimental buildings in China since the founding of the People’s Republic of China in chronological order,summarizes the methods used by the most influential contemporary experimental architects,and analyses the advantages and disadvantages of these methods.Finally,combined with the architectural practice of Guiyuan Temple business circle building facade design,brick kiln renovation design,Rujiawan villagers housing renovation design,the main ideas and ideas are put forward under the guidance of critical regionalism.
