Impedance Cardiography (ICG) is an approach to non-invasive measurement of hemodynamic parameters and heart functions. In oreder to develop a relevant system with advanced functions and high performances, we studied principles, methods and primary techniques of ICG based diagnosing and/or monitoring of hemodynamics. Furthermore, we have developed a relevant software system by using a visual programming tool namely VC++, which works with Windows OS.In this thesis, biomedical principles and technical methods of ICG based diagnosing and/or monitoring of hemodynamics are introduced firstly. Secondly, main functions and performances that the software system comprised are discussed along with some possible approaches to them. Then, on the bases of comparative study of some advanced signal processing methods regarding ICG, a method for identifying feature-points involved was proposed and investigated via simulations. Finally, the corresponding software system developed was introduced in detail, with emphases on its functions, its structure and key of its implementation. The preliminary experiments show that the software system developed is basically practical in terms of its main functions and performances, and that it has some merits in preciseness of measuring, convenience of manipulating and reliability of operating. Thus, our efforts have laid a firm foundation for the system of noninvasive diagnosing and monitoring of hemodynamics, which comprises the software system and a USB-based data acquisition system, to become qualified for clinical applications.
