There is a strong demand for wireless communication in the industrial measurement and control field. It is not convenient to use cable in some harsh environment where power quality monitoring system works. And cable is often very easy to be eroded by the circumstance. Sometime the device has to work under the high voltage, thus some dangerous factors such as electric shock exist when read data from the device. Conventional wireless technology such as infrared technology and Radio Frequency technology can't satisfy the real application needs because they are easy to be interrupted by the obstacle and electromagnetic interference. To solve these problems, the thesis proposed a solution of power quality data acquisition system based on BluetoothTM technology and designed a set of Bluetooth wireless data transceiver which used BlueCore2 chip of CSR company.BluetoothTM is a fast growing, short-range radio technology operating at 2.4GHz in the globally available license-free Industrial, Scientific and Medical(ISM) band. It has good performance of low power, low cost and anti-jamming ability. As the Bluetooth technology standards developing, the Bluetooth chip performance improves. The new generation of Bluetooth chip has better performances in the data transfer rate, transfer reliability and anti-jamming ability, thus it is more suitable to use Bluetooth technology in the industrial field. This thesis is definitely an industrial application example of Bluetooth technology in the power system.The new power quality monitoring system with Bluetooth technology has more convenience and low cost in the installation and maintenance. And combined with PDA the user can measure and read the real–time power quality data for multiple monitor points at the same time. One of the consequences is that we don't need lots of expensive display devices any more in the device field. Another is that we get the mobility and reliability. The thesis implemented the function with programming in the PDA of HP iPAQ hx2100 Pocket PC. Besides this, a power quality database system isdeveloped using MySQL database in the Linux OS. Accordingly client software is also developed programming with Visual Basic. It provides many functions like graphic monitor and real-time analysis and meets the needs of remote operating manager.The thesis researches how to design Bluetooth WLAN-AP(Wireless Local Area Network Access Point) to overcome the shortage of transmission range limit. In addition, in order to apply the Bluetooth technology in industrial field better the anti-jamming ability is researched in detail combined theory and simulation analysis.
