The human geography has studied the earth's surface and human's everything, the human geography is the characteristic theory cross each other. Its related conception, process of space formation and policy is introduced in this paper. This paper discusses the rural settlement's definition, also expound the co-adaptation between the human geography and the rural settlement's construction. Combing the human geography and settlement geography's writings. The human geography and the settlement geography are independent subject, we can consider compositely. So, it can deepen and expand our study field of vision.The human-land relationship theory is the basic of the vernacular settlement's study. There are many factors in this study, but in earlier study the scholar disregarded human factor, they stress geography factor. But in some special situation, human factor it is the import of the vernacular settlement come in to being.The three parts will give the exposition. In part 1, the paper begins from the development of human geography and the vernacular settlement. Then discuss the some theories about human geography and how to operate in architecture.In part 2, the paper starts discussing the ShaXi, Xizhou and Shuanglang in Dali region. Analyzing and studying these settlements from transporting, culture and geography. The three factors it is the import influence vernacular settlementIn part 3, summary the current situation of the vernacular settlement in the view of the human geography, the paper concludes the existing problems and the methods of solving them. At the same time, the paper introduces theories latest development and application in future, hoping to help vernacular settlement study.
