Achieving the strategic goal of rural revitalization with Strong Agriculture,Beautiful Rural Areas and Rich Farmer is not only an important part of the Chinese great rejuvenation of the Chinese dream, but also the inevitable process for China to transite from agricultural civilization to industrial civilization.Human-land relationship is the sum of all interactions between human beings and the natural environment. The form and evolution of rural settlement space reflects all aspects of rural economic and social activities.Based on the development of human-land relationship, this paper explores the evolutionary dynamics and causes of the spatial form of rural settlements, combing the evolution process and characteristics as well as reveal the evolutionary law and sustainable development path.It has significant application value and theoretical significance for guiding rural planning practice and promoting rural revitalization strategy. This paper first constructs the theoretical framework of the spatial evolution of rural settlements driven by human-land relations. Then defines the basic concepts of human-land relations, the influencing factors of human-land relations, and the characteristics of rural human-land relations. From the three dimensions of the spatial form of rural settlements, the induction, promotion and shaping, the author analyzes the method of analysising the spatial evolution of rural settlements driven by human-land relations. This paper proposes a research framework of analyzing the evolution of the rural settlements spatial form under the human-land relationship between.Based on the private and public attributes of the land, the evolution of the spatial form of rural settlements in northern Zhejiang is divided in two stages. In the first stage, the process of human-land relationship was studied along the time axis from primitive and traditional agriculture to modernization. The evolution path of the spatial form stronghold to rural settlement was sorted out.The concept of “directed” city-townvillage space system has been proposed based on the development of villages and towns in northern Zhejiang. In the second stage, after the founding of the People's Republic of China,in the period of communalization, reform, opening up and rapid urbanization, the characteristics of human-land relations such as land reform, land collectivization, and household contract responsibility system were studied. The influence of above factors to the morphological evolution of villages and towns in northern Zhejiang was studied. The characteristics of the spatial form of modern villages and towns in the north of Zhejiang Province were summarized, providing a reference for rural revitalization.A quantitative empirical study on the spatial morphological characteristics of the villages and towns in Changxing County was conducted.Based on the GIS platform, the research method of meso-micro scale in county area is constructed. The concept of plaque spatial agglomeration is proposed, and the spatial aggregation degree of village is analyzed.A rural human-land relationship recognition index based on production characteristics,human-land bearing characteristics and spatial utilization characteristics is proposed.Quantitative analysis of the development characteristics of the spatial form of the villages and towns was conducted. The spatial pattern of the central urban area, the county towns, and the spatial evolution and characteristics of eight typical villages were analized, providing quantitative research methods for the study of spatial evolution of rural settelments. Finally, the development of the spatial form of villages and towns in the north of Zhejiang Province is driven by the rural revitalization strategy. From the perspective of human-land relationship, this paper analyzes the measures of rural revitalization strategy and combs the experience of Zhejiang in the construction of modern villages and towns.Combined with the Yangtze River Delta integration strategy and the concept of "directivity" space system, the development of the spatial form of villages and towns in northern Zhejiang is prospected. The research work in this paper forms the following innovations:(1)The theoretical framework of the spatial evolution of rural settlements driven by humanland relationship is constructed, which provides a theoretical basis for the study of the spatial form of villages and towns.(2)On the macroscopic spatial scale, the concept of“directed” city-town-village space system was proposed.Based on this concept, the development of human-land relationship and the evolution of the spatial pattern of villages and towns in the northern Zhejiang area was interpreted. Then the development of the spatial pattern of villages and towns in the north of Zhejiang Province under the strategic strategy of rural revitalization and the integration of the Yangtze River Delta was looked forward.(3)Propose a method for quantitative empirical research on microscopic spatial scales at the county level. The development characteristics of the spatial form of villages and towns in Changxing County are analyzed comprehensively, which provides a quantitative research method for the study of spatial evolution of villages and towns.
