In our electric power system's construction and operation, the capacity of reactive power is not enough and distribution is unreasonable. The especial questions are the regulating reactive power undercapacity and deficient in fast response equipment. With the development of grid, system instability is very important. The dynamic stabilization of grid is related to fast regulator of reactive power. The voltage stabilization of grid is related to reactive power. Dynamic reactive power compensation technique is an effective and economic measure to enhance voltage stabilization and objective demand to force network's safety stability and strategic defence. This thesis is focused primarily on an advanced scheme based on a thyristor-controlled FACTS device-- -namely SVC placement and supporting reactive voltage in intercity network. By EUROSTAG program, I proceeded the emulation on IEEE039 system. The result expressed that SVC can enhance power quality effectively when system burst faults.
