Research shows that LF-LRVs(Low-floor Light Rail Vehicles) are the best solution of the public transport in many large cities over the world. They can reduce traffic jam, and have been a great push to improve the quality of living. There must be many differences in the bogies between conventional vehicles and the low-floor LRVs. First, traditional wheelset, which includes an axle and two wheels, is not suitable for the low floor of LRVs. AS a method of reform, the independently rotating wheels are introduced, which abandon the axle or fixes the stepped axles in order keep the spare space between two wheels.Because of the change of structure, the performance of LF-LRVs' curve passing is different from traditional LRVs. In order to obtain the performance of the 70% LF-LRV, the analysis needs to build a mathematical model and do simulation. The dynamic performance of the vehicle is carried out by the multi-body dynamics analysis software ADAMS. Because of the special structure of the bogie of independently rotating wheels, model needs to formulate practical mathematical models of physical systems.According to the result of dynamic simulation, we can obtain results of curve passing performance. LF-LRVs could meet the demand of application. The independently rotating wheels abandon the axle or fix the stepped axles in order to keep the spare space between two wheels, lack the self-guided function. When the vehicle passes the curving line, it only can guide by wheel flanges and increase the wear. For solving the present state of abnormal wear on wheel flanges of trains, this paper designs a forced-steering mechanism. When the vehicle passes the curving line, its carbodys have included angles. The gain of carbodys carries on the wheelset by the mechanism. Its effect is real-time. And the simulation results indicate the mechanism reduces the wear of wheel effectively, and it can meet the demand of application.
