Study On The Development Mode Of Road Container Transport

As an advanced mode of cargo transportation, container transport is highly efficient, small loss of goods, high degree of mechanization and suitable for multimodal transportation. So it has gradually replaced other traditional modes of transportation and has become the most important mode of transportation in the world today, particularly for importing and exporting of goods. In recent years, with the development of economical globalization and acceleration of China's foreign trade, China's import and export trade volume has grown substantially, which makes maritime container transport develop rapidly. As the main gatheringand distributing maritime container transport, and the linkage with ports and land transportation, road container transport has been more and more recognized by people.Meanwhile, with the improvement of people's level of consumption and the adjustment of the country's industrial structure, great changes have taken place in transportation demand. High quality of and high efficiency of goods transportation are required. And road container transport meets the demands of the cargo shipper precisely with the advantages such as convenience, speediness, safety, high quality and flexibility, so it will become an important type of transportation for road transportation. However, from the perspective of the development of China's current road container transport, there are still a lot of problems. The needs of economic development can not be fully met. There is still a big gap between China and the advanced countries. Therefore, in order to promote the development of China's road container transport and to narrow the gap gradually, it is necessary tocarry out a research on the characteristics of road container transport, trying to find out the rules of development, mode of development and the future direction of development.Under such circumstance, this thesis, on the basis of the scientific project of Jilin transportation of"The research on development strategies of road container transport and drop and pull transport in Jilin province", studies on the mode of China's road container transport development. On the basis of analysis of influencing factors, this thesis divides road container transport stage of development, and summarizes its rules and mode of development from the viewctors on road container transport from port, software and hardware cond initial, intermediate and advanced three stages. In light of the successful experience point of industry and business at every stage and proposes the development mode and direction of road container transport in Jilin Province. There are six chapters in this thesis to describe these techniques in details and the main content of each chapter and the results of the study are as following.Chapter one introduces the background, the purpose and significance of the research. The current research status in domestic and foreign countries and the structure of the thesis are also clarified.Chapter two outlines the road container transport. The container transport, the development of road container transport, concepts and features of road container transport are explained in this chapter. The author also analyzes the current development of China's road container transport, summarizes the current problems of China's road container transport in six aspects and proposes the development trend of China's future road container transport.Chapter three analyzes the factors affecting the development of road container transport. This chapter studies the development of road container transport from several major factors. Firstly, this chapter analyzes the relationship between road container transport and GDP, industry and foreign trade, analyzing the impact on the road container transport from the perspective of qualitative and quantitative factor; Secondly, this chapter analyzes the major factor that influences the road container transport- appropriate source, analyzing quantitatively the appropriate road container volume from six supplying distribution in China; Thirdly, the chapter analyzes the cost of road container transport, comparing with the cost of general cargo transport and the railway container transport; Finally the chapter analyzes the factors on road container transport from port, software and hardware conditions.Chapter four clarifies the stage and mode of development of road container transport. According to the analysis of factors affecting road container transport and analogy transportation theory, the chapter divides road container transport into the initial, intermediate and advanced three stages. In light of the successful experience of the domestic and foreign road container transport, the author analyzes the rules of development of road container transport in industries and enterprises, proposing mode of development of each stage.Chapter five introduces the development mode selection and implementation of countermeasures of Jilin road container transport. At first, the chapter analyzes the status of road container transport in Jilin province before forecasting the international container transport volume and the domestic container transport volu me using a new combination prediction method, which are the use of GM (1,1) model and time-series forecasting methods respectively. Then BP neural network is used to forecast the results of these two methods. Based on the current development and future prediction volume of road container in Jilin Province, and economy level and road transportation in Jilin Province, the author puts forward the methods and mode of driving the road container transport from initial stage to intermediate stage in light of the development mode of China's road container transport. At the same time, this chapter proposes a series of measures and recommendations.Chapter six is the summary of the whole thesis. In this chapter the author summarizes the main research results and the contents deserve more study as well.The novelty of the thesis mainly includes two aspects as follows:One is the analogy transportation theory, based on economic and other factors, the thesis divides the development stage of road container transport, summarizes the development rules of road container transport in accordance with the development stage and puts forward the development mode in industry and enterprise.The other is aiming at the irregularity of historical data of road container transport throughput in Jilin province.The thesis uses a new combination method to predict the future transportation throughput and proves the effectiveness of the method.
