Recently, because of the improvement of road condition and the performance of the vehicle, the average velocity of modern vehicle could reach to the two times than before on the road which condition is very well, this means in the same braking condition,the same time, the arrester of the modern vehicle would produce more caloric and undertake more caloric burthen;when the vehicle run on the road of mountainous area and mine, it will often go long slope, in order not to accelerate the speed to the dangerous level as it's own gravitation effect, it should persist use the brake system, transform the potential energy into kinetic energy and then transform it into heat energy to emanate, thereby steady the speed below the safety level. In this condition, it will burthen the brake system, and if you brake for a long time, the arrester will produce a lot of caloric and arise the phenomenon of over-heated, then reduce the modulus of friction, make the effect of the baking descend, it is very dangerous to the running vehicle, there may cause big accidents because of the invalidation.Therefore in order to keep the normal performance of the arrester and the using time, controlling the temperature is pivotal, for fear that the temperature ascending to the damage grade. People have improved the performance of arrester for many years, but most of the improvements is prosecuted around the arrester of wheel, just as broaden the dimension of the drum and friction, change the description of friction material, but it can't solve the problem radically. Because the energy is conserved, arrester as a special equipment to transform the kinetic energy into heat energy, the heat energy it produced has much correlation with the burthen of the brake. For the limitation of brake system dimension and cooling system capability, the accumulation of heat produced by brake system would appear when braking frequently or persistently. The vehicle must be equipped with auxiliary brakingsystem besides the service brake to ensure the well brake performance. Because the electric control hydraulic Retarder has a good performance of brake effect and well economic, national vehicle industry pay more attention to it day by day. The electric hydraulic Retarder's research,production and application is at the start point, the performance and quality have to be improved. For safety consideration, it must be test before installed on the vehicle to ensure the performance and reliability, so it is necessary to research the test methods.Following items are included in this dissertation:1. Introduced the basal theory and work principals of the Electric Control Hydraulic Retarder;Analyzed the factor which influenced the performance of braking effect. This would be the basic of designing the test methods of the electric hydraulic Retarder.2. Introduced the layout of the electric control hydraulic Retarder test-bed and the parts of it. A series of flywheels are designed which can randomly combine and simulate the running state of the automobiles whose approximately quality rangefrom2000 to 32000(kg), its simulation range is very widely, almost including from carrion to motor coach. The testing system can evaluate the eddy current retarder's performance at different vehicles, so it expand application range and heighten testing efficiency, and supply a gap in he eddy current retarder's performance testing of china.3. Analyzed the structure and work principal of the data collection system, choose PCI7483 data collection card and designed corresponding software, it could collection the data convenience.4. Design the test methods and contents of the electric hydraulic Retarder, through the experiment, it is improved that the test methods could able to assess the comprehensive performance of the electric control hydraulic Retarder.In this paper, the test methods of electric control hydraulic Retarder's performance, according to the experiment, it is obvious that the test methods could able to assess the comprehensive performance of the electric control hydraulic Retarder, it canprovide the data to support the design improvement and evaluation; it also provide the preference for corresponding regulations. And it'll have a good prospect.
