In recent years, with the rapid economic development, the increasing traffic demand, our national automobiles possessing is rising sharply. Automobile industry brings not only several convenience but a series of bewildering problems, such as environment pollution, traffic congestion, traffic accidents happening frequently and so on, which bring prodigious damage to lives and property of people. Traffic accidents will not only endanger the lives, but also undermine the continuity of road transport, which will result in traffic jams. According to statistics, the annual number of traffic accidents killed more than 500,000. Reducing and preventing traffic accidents have become an urgent task in order to improve the traffic safety situation of urban.The thesis explains the harmfulness of road traffic accidents and analyzes linear path is one of the important factors to cause of road traffic accidents from the impact of various factors, furthermore, emphasizes to analyze the influence of national highway alignment on traffic safety and employs the method of principal components to get the influence of various alignment on safety based on comprehensive reference to the status of the domestic and abroad research. The method of regression analysis is used to build a traffic accident with a few linear mathematical model, and the model is also analyzed,validated and applied .There are five chapters in the paper, and the fourth chapter is the core.The first chapter of the thesis presents the research background, status, significance and the main content. In view of the situation of our national road traffic accidents having a high degree of danger and broad scope characteristics, it studies the national expressway character and accident category and analyzes the main cause of the road traffic accidents.The second chapter of the thesis presents a simple introduction of the data sources firstly; Secondly, it elaborates on the design of linear indicators of safety from the relationships between the road plane, profile, cross-section of the geometric design and traffic safety elements; Finally it uses the method of the principal component analysis to analyze the various factors of the road plane, vertical section, cross-section of the geometric design and extract the main factors on the road traffic safety.The third chapter of the thesis explains the basic knowledge of the traffic prediction and related research methods. Moreover, it adopts the multivariate linear regression method to predict and analysis to the traffic accidents in the end.The fourth chapter of the thesis adopts the method of dynamic step promoting and takes the road design parameters of the important points as the road characteristics points firstly; Then establishes some models including traffic accidents with the horizontal curve, profile, cross-section and road alignment and establish a comprehensive model of the traffic accident with those significantly large variable transformed; Finally, the model is validated and applied.The fifth chapter of the thesis provides a summary of the done work and puts forward the deficiency of papers to determine the content need to further study and direction.
