Performance-Based Fire Resistance Design Of Structure

Presently, the fire protection design code of most countries and our country are recipe-like, the recipe-like fire protection method always encounters some inextricable problem. Since the 1970s, some developed countries have begun to systematically study the performance based fire design method of the building. After our country joined WTO, the fire protection code should be link with the world, abstract the advanced experience from abroad and make an effective search to performance-based method based on the local conditions, that is significant for establishing our own country's performance based fire design code early. Structure fire resistance is an important component of performance based fire design, investigating the performance-based fire resistance design of structure is beneficial to develop our country's performance-based method, reduce the fire protection cost, reduce fire caused direct and undirect loss and protect people's life property safety.This paper makes an initial study and discuss of performance based fire design method and the part of structure fire resistance design. (1) Summarizes the methodology base of performance-based fire protection design, the develop of performance-based fire protection design depends on the develop of ifre basic theories,fire applying basic theories and fire application technique;(2) Establishes approach of performance-based fire protection design that our country should be followed in principle. Establishes chief mode of performance-based fire resistance design of structure. the chief mode includes preventing fire and fire spread, people's safe egress and fire resistance of structure;(3) Aim at typical stored flammable solid warehouse that develops some collisions with the fire protection code because of changing of the stored goods made a warehouse,we make a performance-based fire protection design.we utilized the method of dynamical compartmentalization to solve the problem of collided with the fire protection code and establishe the critical condition of preventing fire spread, it is not necessary to compart the space of the warehouse by entity;(4) we make a performance-based fire resistance design of structure on the warehouse, the results indicate that without fire-proofing coating,the warehouse'strucutre can also be in safe in 30min.it reduces the cost of fire resistance of structure, meets the safety and economy objective at the same time.
