Substation Graphics System has already become an indispensable part in the Supervising and Controlling System of substation automation. This paper research and develop the substation graphics system which sufficiently utilizes many excellent characteristics of Object-oriented Programming, such as inheritance, polymorphism, and encapsulation . The system has the function of generating engineering pictures quickly and editing Graphics, owns plenty of mental Graphics, supports inimitably zooming graphics, supports the connection with real-time and history database, supports programming with embedded script language. During its development, the whole system is modeled in UML, by Object Modeling Technique. The model is realized in C++ which is the Object-Oriented programming language, basing on the technology of Windows MFC, with Visual C++ 6.0 developing tool. This Graphics System has the characteristics of high real-time quality, stably running and logical structure. It is widely applicable on substation automation.
