This paper studies online diagnostic technology and activating technology for the backup valve regulated lead-acid battery (VRLAB), through the diagnostic model using impedance and cell activating technology, make it possible to find and activate the battery that its capability drops behind, to extend its life.According to the survey data: at present, 65% probability of problems or insecurity are in existence in the backup battery. How to apply the scientific and exact technology of activating and diagnosis, to find the failure battery timely, to improve the safety and extend the life of batteries, it is the main question that the thesis answers.From the working principle and characteristics, The papers analyze several factors that affecting battery life; The study is focused on measuring techniques of the battery impedance (or conductance), the activating technology, to facilitate the study, this paper starts with the electrochemical, study the various failure modes.By studying battery impedance model, combined with large amounts of data many years of practice, the paper analyses the relationship between the impedance and different failure or degraded modes of VRLAB. And found the diagnostic modes based on the impedance measuring techniques by AC methods, achieves the diagnosis for VRLAB online. Contrasting the data gained in different testing methods, to validate its nicety .Combining the characteristics of VRLAB, to table a improving proposal that is different from the general program of charge-discharge, for reduce and delay the trend that the battery goes to the bad. The paper studies an online activated technology that dispels the lead sulfate to restrain the battery failure, based on the charge-discharge cycles technology, and the prompting signal. A lot of data have tested the technology for practical results: 10-35% the battery capacity can be resumed, meanwhile the activation best time : more than 40%.In the recent three years of study, and through theoretical studies and a large number of engineering practice, BIS series of diagnostic devices have are designed and completed, as well as the device that make cell battery activate online. It was tested that the diagnostic model using impedance and activation technology by the actual application, by application of patented products.
