Storage batteries working as backup power have been widely applied to industrial production, transportation and telecommunication, their reliability plays key rules to the safety and stability of many important situations. Thus how to determine the accurate state of work of storage batteries is the key to improve the reliability of power supply systems.This paper focuses on the design of monitoring system as well as the theoretical study of VRLAB (Valve Regulated Lead Acid Battery) online monitoring technologies in internal resistance, State of charge (SOC) and State of health (SOH). It starts with internal resistance testing, analyzes its effective composition and influencing factors, studies the AC measuring method, and realizes the accurate testing of micro Ohm internal resistance of large capacity battery. Based on the testing data, it entirely discusses the relations between the internal resistance and SOC as well as SOH, and expounds the validation and shortcoming of resistance monitoring. Then it analyzes the advantages and shortcomings of SOC calculation on the basis of discharge voltage and real discharge capacity, puts forward APTS method of capacity measurement by combining AH regulation, Peuker equation, temperature adjustment and deterioration factors, and realizes the online VRLAB monitoring technology in SOC, SOH and internal resistance by combining the AC measuring method. According to the above measuring methods and taking the actual situation into consideration, the modelized intelligent management system of battery is designed. Finally, this paper studies networkized battery monitoring programs including the generalized program based on TCP/IP protocol as well as the centralized and networkized battery management system in telecommunication power environment. The programs realize the remote centralized monitoring and management of storage battery.The online testing system of storge battery parameters by combining networkized monitoring platform designed in this paper, will largely reduces the cost of monitoring and maintenance of storage battery, and further improve the reliability of power supply system.
