The purpose of this thesis is to simplify the process of sequential turbocharging electronic controller design, reduce the cost and accelerate the progress of sequential turbocharging system development. Based on analyze of different methods of hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulation, this thesis proposes to design a HIL simulation platform for diesel engine with sequential turbocharging system on dSPACE.Based on analyze of different kinds of diesel models, this thesis establishes the quasi-steady real-time simulation model of TBD234V12 diesel engine by the use of software MATLAB/Simulink. The model includes diesel model, turbocharger model, inter cooler model and speed governor model. Data of experiment is used to calibrate the model and the result of simulation tallies with the experimental data well.This thesis designs a sequential turbocharging controller which takes single chip micro-computer as the core. The controller includes signal neaten part, signal collection part, LCD display part, watch dog part. And the software of the controller is written by advanced language C51. This thesis uses limited-time-count methods of collecting pulse frequency to match a wide frequency range of pulse collection.After that, real-time simulation model is downloaded to the dSPACE processor by the use of RTW and RTI. Controller is connected to the dSPACE system by input and output boards. Monitoring interfaces of different parts of the system are established by experiment software ControlDesk. The performance of controller is tested by HIL simulation. The results of HIL simulation prove that the controller matches the targets of design.
