As an important component of a diesel engine control system,electronic governor is becoming more and more complex,which also makes its exploitation more difficult.The traditional method of debugging electronic governor through bench tests is almost outdated for its high cost,long exploitative period,unstable environment,etc.The substitute is found to be hardware-in-loop simulation (HILS).Electronic governor of diesel engine HILS is designed and discussed in detail in this paper.As the core of the HILS,the dynamic models affect the work ability and the reliability of the whole system.Therefore,this paper uses the high-powered software—Tesis to build a turbo diesel engine of 16V396TE94 for simulation based on the theory of diesel engine model.Data of experiment is used to calibrate the model and the result validates that the model has a high accuracy.For lucubrating PID control program,the electronic governor model is built with MATLAB/Simulink based on the standard of real project.And the traditional PID control program is ameliorated.The off-board simulations under several transient operating conditions are performed,which all indicate well capability of this electronic governor model.The ameliorated PID controller model makes preparations for further exploitation,debugging and rapid control prototype simulation of PID controller.This paper also uses the high-powered platform—dSPACE for HILS,the A/D interface board DS2003 and the I/O interface CP4002 to establish the connection between the Tesis diesel engine model and the real electronic governor. And the monitor is established using the experiment manager software—ControlDesk. At the end of the paper,the diesel engine electronic governor HILS is performed which behave well timing capability at start-up,unload stability, speed-adjusting and sudden load change.The result of the HILS simulation leads to the conclusion that the HILS as a platform for electronic governor exploitation and debugging is feasible.This paper offers a practicable and convenient platform for electronic governor exploitation and debugging.But the key point is the bringing forward theory and experience,thus can support the future engineering exploitation of electronic governor,and shorten the developing time,which will has the positive effects on the diesel engine electronic governor development.
