Variable pitch wind turbine is more and more popular because variable pitch wind turbine has many advantages, such as efficiency of wind turbine is high and performance of starting and braking is superior and the losing loading is avoided when wind turbine is grid off. Based on "MW variable speed constant frequency wind turbine" from state "863" high technology research development plan this thesis mainly analyses variable pitch system on theory which is one of key technology of wind turbine. This article consists of some detail contains as follows:Firstly, the calculation method and formula of SUT-1000 wind turbine pitch drive moment are given. The result is gained that Mc is most important to pitching driving among all moment. The driving force of SUT-1000 wind turbine is calculated and the maximum value of driving force required pitch.Secondly, because asymmetry valve control hydraulic cylinder is adopted in hydraulic pitch system, effect area is different when opening pitch and closing pitch, math model is established according to characteristics of opening pitch and closing pitch.Thirdly, according to linear math model, close loop control system is built by PID controller and RBF neutral network PID controller. Analysis of simulation is taken by using Matlab language. By contrast simulation, RBF neutral network PID controller is super than PID controller.Fourthly, making use of External Controller of GH bladed wind turbine design software, the RBF neutral networks controller is leaded in GH bladed in order to verify the performance of the controller. Interface of GH bladed is compiled by C language. In the end, it is a conclusion that RBF neutral network PID controller is super.
