The structural design and optimization of compressed garbagetrucks is the school-enterprise cooperation project of the authorparticipated in, it's including hook-lift and compartment structureoptimization. As a key member of the discussion group, under thedirection of Professor Chen Shuxun, completed the mathematicalexpression of the load, Finite Element Analysis and design Optimizationof the compartment structure, this is the project's research thesis. The structure of compressed garbage trucks include chassis, compartment and hook-lift. Base on the cylinder pressure and theresults of structure's stress test, use the load model of compressedgarbage with Eggshell, we get the mathematical expression of the loadwhich get from the process of rubbish inside the truck, then composethe force that the hook-lift superposited to compartment to form the loadunder kinds of working conditions. Using ANSYS, the finite elementanalysis of the structure under the nine actual working conditions arecompleted and get the danger stress point for each condition. According to the manufacturer's views, the new compartment structure withsubsection arc section was given, as well as the finite element analysisfor the new structural design. Selected the appropriate design variables, constraints and objective function and built the optimization designmathematical model under the stress distribution. Through envelopingof the constraints, the optimization method of Guide-weigh method andANSYS combined were applied in the project, completed the finiteelement analysis and size optimization. Under the greatest stress wasdescended less than 180 MPa which steel allowable from 254.85 MPa,the weight of the compartment was descended from 2.65 t to 1.83 t,reduce the weight of 30.9%, over-fulfilled its contractual requirementswith weight target of 20%.
