Research and thesis of vehicle multi-body analysis and explicit dynamic finite element analysis have been summarized. The summing-up that the research of restrict structure and safety of commercial vehicle mounting system were rarely studied has been made. Under the conclusion, in this paper, the research of restrict structure's restrict ability and failure safety of commercial cab mounting system have been done. First, structures of various kinds of commercial vehicle cab mounting system have been analyzed, including the half-float cab and full-float cab. Restrict structures of those mounting system also been studied, the theory model simulation of it has been done. For safety study, factors of suspension failure have been analyzed. Subsequently, cab mounting restrict ability multi-body model has been built with ADAMS software. The simplification of main parts of the vehicle has been described, including the restrict structure. The road excitation curve file has been created by self-writing program. Different curves can be made by changing coefficients of the program.Then, using the same road extinction curve, simulations of both restrict structures and restrict system with different parameters have been processed,. By the analysis of those simulation results, the relation between restrict structure parameters, restrict capability and cab acceleration rcsponse has been analyzed.Afterwards, the explicit finite element model of cab mounting system safety using shell element has been built with ANSYS/LS-DYNA software. In the model, the nonlinear of geometry, material and structure all have been considered. The simplification of cab suspension has been studied Finally, finite element simulations of failure of front and rare cab suspension have been done, the condition that suspensions are not failed also has been simulated. By comparing the strain and stress of those three different simulations, structure improved advice of danger areas on the cab bone have been given. The research of this paper supplies a efficient method for the designing of commercial vehicle mounting system and cab base structure. Conclusions of both studies give rewarding references for relating research.
