The Investigation And Analysis On The Present Situation Of The Human Settlement Environment Of Urban Fringe In Changsha

Human settlements is the base for human existence and development. Its quality is not only directly related to human health, but also an important sign of society improvement and cultural development. The science of human settlements originates from architecture science, which focuses on researching man-made living space. Presently, it is still in its initial stag and need a lot of specialties and subjects to join in this huge project to establish the science of human settlements. With the development of the city, the enviroment of human settlement is changed rapidly. Otherwise, many new complex problems on human settlement enviroment arise, especially in the urban fringe. Because of the traditional dual system and dynamic of the urban fringe, human settlement environment in the urban fringe varies fiercely. We should specially pay attention to this phenomenon. This paper presents the research results:(1)The background and practical meaning of researching human settlement environment in the urban fringe is presented. Then the state of study on urban fringe, human settlement environment and evaluation systems of human settlement is reviewed. From the physical environment and non-physical environment aspects, it formulates some major issues for human settlement environment in the urban fringe.(2)A questionnaire investigation on the urban fringe dwellers in Changsha was carried out. Some background materials of the urban fringe in Changsha were gained. Also some indoor experiments were conducted. The results show that ecological environment is serious and the settlement environment is dual. The public establishment is imperfect and the public security question is serious. Because of the social reforming, multitudinous unstable factors are in existence.(3)Based on the results of investigation, it analyses dual characteristics of living environment, component of personnel, cultural psyche and social management in the urban fringe and exposes the negative role of dual characteristics in the urban fringe.(4)The uncertainty in the appraisal and forecast of human settlement enviroment is introduced, and optional measurement of human settlement environment in the urban fringe are analysed from ecological environment and Social environment aspects. It is the emphasis point in the appraisal of human settlement in the urban fringe.
