Study Of The Traditional Settlement Update Design In Urban Fringe

In the current period, China is undergoing rapid urbanization, urbanization not only brings new developments has also brought a series of problems to be solved. Urban fringe is between the urban core and the rural hinterland, in the wave of urbanization, traditional settlements in urban fringe are undergoing tremendous change. On the one hand, the traditional settlements in urban fringe obtain a rare opportunity for development, on the other hand, urban fringe settlements has broken the urban-rural dual structure when it is in the process of transformation result in frequent conflict. In the present period, if we ignored the existence of the traditional settlement completely and used radical update mode, the urban transformation could not be accomplished healthy and orderly. It is worth to think deeply about how to plan and design the traditional settlements and protect the historical resources under the background of urbanization.In this paper, on the basis of literature, summed up the relevant research results, field investigation and analysis, has conducted research on the subject. Firstly, starting with the form and institutional change of the traditional settlements in urban fringe, study its evolution in the process of urbanization, and then analyzed the traditional settlement renewal system, put forward the related strategies and suggestions for update. Finally, through the update design of Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone Jun Shan Town applies the research results into practice.I hope this paper can cause reflection on some aggressive update method which appears in traditional settlement when it is in the process of urbanization, so that in a future update design not only can meet its long-term development, also can continue its historical context, and then completed the transition of urbanization successfully.
