Planetary gear system is one of the best transmission systems in modern transmission device. It has the property of good performance, compact structure, high transmit efficiency and so on. Because shifting process of the planetary automatic transmission is an intricate dynamic process, the study of this is very useful for improving the quality of the vehicle's shifting process, reliability and durable of the friction elements.The provenance of this theme is Taiwan Leader University Dept. of information Communication. In this paper, based on bond graph theory, the author simulated the dynamic shifting process of an automatic transmission, and analyzed the relationship between shifting quality and the clutch or brake control model. As a further study, the author carried out the research on the dynamic simulation of 3K planetary gear system. At the end, the author studied an example to prove that the changing rules from graph representation to bond graph are correct, which can help to achieve auto-modeling of the gear system.Prime study contents and conclusions in the paper are described as following:①Based on band graph, the software called"simbond"which can draw bond graph, create state equation and simulate was developed use VB as develop environment and Matlab as solver.②Based on bond graph, the control model of the clutch and brake as well as 1-2,2-3,3-4,1-R shifting process were developed, the state equations of the models were deduced and then simulated with Matlab/Simulink. At the end, relationship between shifting quality and the clutch or brake control model was evaluated.③Kinematics of 3K planetary gear system was analyzed with the method of graph representation and Fundamental Circuit.④The bond graph model of the 3K planetary gear system was built based on bond graph theory, and then simulated with the software"Simbond".⑤Based on the study before, an example was analyzed to prove that the changing rules from graph representation to its bond graph are correct which can help to achieve auto-modeling of the gear system.
