Birdstrike is a paroxysmal and frequent air accident, which, oncehappening, tends to bring about a destructive disaster and diretly threatensthe life security of aircrew and passenger. The studies showed thatecological messures of prevention are foundamental in the the preventionof the birdstrike. Therefore, the survery and research on the composition ofthe bird species, the activity rhythm of birds, avian community and habitatare the essential premise of making effective measures of prevention.In our study, regarding avian community and environment in the areaof Baita airport as main target, we systematically analyzed, based on thecomprehensive investigation, bird species that threaten flight securitypotentially indifferent seasons, relationship between avian community andits habitat and activity rhythm of birds in airfield area. Then the feasiblepreventive proposals against birdstike have been put forward for Baita airport referring to preventive experiences, lesson and methods ofbirdstrike in international airports. The major conclusions from thisresearch are as follows:①The potentially dangerous bird species vary with the change of seasons.In spring, the potentially dangerous species are Common Magpie, Dove,Common Kestrel, Common Swift, Oriental Plover, Grey-headed Lapwing,;in summer, the potentially dangerous species are Common Magpie, BarnSwallow, Dove, Common Swift, Eastern Red-footed Falcon, Red-rumpedSwallow, Blyth's Pipit; in autumn the potentially dangerous species areLarged-billed Crow, Carrion Crow, Daurian Jackdaw, Red-rumped Swallow,Dove, Common Magpie, Common Kestrel; in winter, the potentiallydangerous species are Common Magpie, Dove, Tree Sparrow, DaurianJackdaw.②The avian community structure is different in different habitats of Baitaairport. It is because the the environmental factors are not identical. Theclose correlation displayed between avian community and factors ofenvironment in six habitats of Baita airport. Bird species positivelycorrelated with insect diversity and plant diversity remarkably (p<0.05);bird diversity positively correlated with plant diversity remarkably (p<0.05),and positively correlated plant diversity extremely remarkably (p<0.01).This research can provide sound scientific foundation making preventivemeasures against birdstrike. ③The activity of bird appears fastigium in spring and autumn in airfieldarea, and it mostly takes place in March, May, August and October. Thefastigium of bird activity varies with the change of seasons. In spring, ithappens at 8:00-10:00, 16:00-18:00 and 18:00-20:00; in summer; ithappens at 6:00-8:00, 8:00-10:00 and 16:00-20:00; in autumn, it happens at8:00-10:00 and 16:00-18:00; in winter, it happens at 8:00-10:00 and12:00-14:00. Consequently the flights should avoided fastigium of birdactivities.④Based on analyzing root reason of birdstrike, we propose some specificand detailed preventive measures of birdstrike and some pieces of adviceson working on prevention of birdstrike later on.
