Development And Application Of Honing Technology Of Cylinder Barrel

Cylinder block is an important part of engine's combustion chamber. While engine running, cylinder bore is in the high temperature and pressure environment, piston and piston rings moves to-and-fro, therefore, the cylinder bore is easy to suffer abrasion brought by side pressure of position. This situation make the piston leaking more gas, consuming more oil, consequently reduce the engine output and life span. It could be confirmed that the machining quality of cylinder bore will directly influence the technical performances and working efficiency of engine.Compared with the normal honing, flateau honing and sliding honing is one kind of more advanced technology, which has a lot of advantages such as :The cylinder bore microscopic profile is smooth flateru( not tip peak), which is divided by the more deep wave hollow(compared with normal honing) and distributing regularly in interval. The engine running-in period in operation is short, Excellent lubricating condition, high productivity, etc. They are mail steam of honing technology for cylinder hole at present.Through the introduction of technology of flat top honing and sliding honing, There is important significance for improvement of quality of auto engine's cylinder block and advance of productive efficiency.Flateau honing and slide honing is both the most advanced technology of cylinder barrel honing,they perform important role in improving endurance life,economic and driving performance of our engines,especially they have primary influence in overcoming the early abrasion and reducing the fuel consumption of the engine.The text will introduce the course and actuality of honing technology for cylinder hole .Comparing study of normal honing, flateau honing and sliding honing is conducted. At the same time the technology of brush honing, spiral sliding honing and laser honing shall be introduced in brief. Analyses of principle of honing shall be done, Type of honing machine shall be introduced.It is emphatic that introduction of course and economic benefit of reforming the Changchun productive line's flateau honing technology into sliding honing one.After experiment of slide honing technology in 468 product line,we find Slide honing has higher productivity,lower cost and remarkable improvement in quality compare with flateau honing.To get higher quality and productivity and lower cost,our company made improvement of flateau honing technology in Changchun product line from May 2005.After grouping test of 150 pieces of cylinder block,weassemble engines using typical cylinder blocks,and made contrast of piston leakage,consuming rate of engine oil,wearability and other performance of them,chose the best machining parameters and granularity of the whetstone finally. we mend the flateau honing to slide honing successfully,and achieve the purpose of higher quality and productivity and lower cost.The result in this paper has direct enhancing force for production of Harbin Hafei Automobile Industry Group's engine.
