The Solution Of Web Pavement Management System Based On ArcIMS

Since the 80～90s in the last century, with the development of Chinese economy, a great deal of High-class highways have been built. After a few years' operation of these highways, problems on the pavement maintenance are emerging distinctly. The decision-makers of pavement maintenance expressly realize that a huge highway pavement quality database is absolutely indispensable. Combining the advantages of highway pavement system and Internet Technology, they could be innovatively used as a base to develop, share, manage and operate the highway pavement quality database. With it, datum can be transmitted in a wide area; it can also strengthen communications among different sections of pavement maintenance and advance the efficiency.In this thesis, characteristics of WebGIS and pavement management system and their developing trend are primarily introduced, the feasibility of combining WebGIS and GIS Technology are discussed, and then the system conception structure and logic structure are designed. And the strong functions of this pavement management system with network are brought out. Following are the main results of this thesis:First, we expound the basic of each technology scheme, which is chosen by the developing of this system. In this thesis several schemes, such as platform of WebGIS, scheme of Client, scheme of data memory, evaluation and forecast methods of pavement quality, and the scheme, which is chosen for the system in this scheme, are expounded.Second, according to the request, that the system needs to fulfill, this system and data bank are designed as a whole. Active Server Page and ActiveX Web technology are adopted. Combining with the evaluation standard of pavement quality, Web PMS——Sichuan Province Freeway Web PMS, which bases onWebGIS, are developed. And we introduce the structure, theory, functions, traits and operation of this system.
