As one of the most essential parts of the urban road network, the plane intersection often becomes the bottleneck of the Travelling capability of road network capacity. In spite of its contributions to people's convenience of daily traffic, the intersection simultaneously brings problems as vehicles travel from different directions, which will lead to a low passing rate of the moving vehicles. Besides, the unreasonable geometric and phase designs are to blame for frequently-occurring traffic jams. Thus how to improve the passing capacity for a much better traffic at the plane intersections has attracted the attentions of the traffic authorities both at home and abroad. The traffic management and organizement of intersection has three type: no signal control,signal control, ring.Along with the transportation demand increase. More and more intersection uses the signal control.The signal control intersection signal machine is one of the main infrastructures for traffic control and it manages and monitors the plane intersections.This thesis proposes an emulated model to examine the intersection signal machine parameters and functions and develops a preliminary simulated computer software which will help to realize the communications of signals between the intersection machine and the simulation system.First, based on a preliminary approach to the studies of the traffic emulated examination system both at home and abroad, concepts of the traffic control examination and the emulated traffic control examination have been mentioned, in addition to their development history as well as the feasibility and superiority to combine the examination with the simulation.Second, the simulated model of the examination of the intersection signal machine parameters and functions are adopted by analyzing the main structures and functions of intersection machines.Third, with the reference to the former researches of the traffic simulatation models and based on the analysis of the current traffic situations at plane intersections in Fujian Province, five basic parameters of the simulation model are defined and a preliminary computer software for the simulation system has been developed.Fourth, in an attempt to ensure the connection between the signals from the intersection traffic control machines and the simulation system, this article has designed a signal-collecting circuit and adopted a signal input/output interface by counting the number of signals needed by the traffic control machine, thus to finally realize the communications between the machines and the computer with the simulation system successfully.
