Nanosatellite, which has great significance in the construction of national defence, is recently an important foreland research aspect in Astronautics. As the kernel component in Nanosatellite, On-board computers is mainly used for satellite control, affair management, data processing, etc, and is a momentous application of computer in the domain of space. As the computer will be affected by the radiation of electromagnetism as well as the impulsion of high energy particles in the radiation environment of space, it must contain function of radiation resistance. Traditional shielding and Rad-hard technology have gradually been incapable of meeting the needs of On-board computer's performance and the ability of radiation resistance, along with Nanosatellite's use diversification and orbital expansion. Commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) technology emerged as the times require and it has been becoming to be the research hotspot in the domain of space. Based on COTS technology, this paper investigated the solving scenario of single-event-latchup (SEL) resistance in On-board computer. The scenario was then applied in a high-performance, low-cost On-board computer prototype sample machine, which was developed by this task and with the ability of radiation resistance.This paper analysed the feasibility and advantages of COTS technology in the application of space and summarized the radiation resistance technologies versus various radiation effects in On-board computer under COTS technology, based on the investigation of the space radiation environment theory together with the radiation effects of electronic components. On the foundation of embedded understanding of SEL's mechanism, a SEL resistance protection circuit under COTS technology was given and then implemented in the prototype sample machine; On the theory study of On-board computer's power system, this paper contrived and realized the prototype sample machine's power system, combined with the need of the SEL resistance as well as the power consuming and supply management; Sequentially the solving scenario of SEL resistance in On-board computer was done and prototypically applied. Finally, a validation and demonstration scheme was presented.After being more consummated and modularized, the design and research in this paper can be directly used in space-applied On-board computer up to the whole satellite. The fruit of this task aimed to strengthen the radiation resistance capability of our country's On-board computer and had fateful practical meaning in promoting not only the domestic space science and technology, but also the development and application of computer in Astronautics.
