The radiation environment where the spacecraft is can bring about some serious radiation effects in the field of aerospace. To improve the reliability ofthe electronic system in the spacecraft, and reduce the damage caused by radiation effect, some radiation-hardened experiment on key devices of low level in the spacecraft are needed before their orbiting motion.In recent years, it can’t meet the needs of diversified function development of spacecraft to import aerospace components of high reliability from foreign countries.However, commercial-off-the-shelf components can replace aerospace devices.Because of their low price and high reliability, COTS components can reduce the time and cost of research greatly and become one of hot research topic in the field of space technology.This paper mainly includes the following content:(1) The main source of space radiation effect is introduced in the paper. The space radiation effects caused by space radiation environment is researched, including single event effect, total ionizing dose, displacement damage effect and so on. Their origin, phenomenon and damage are analyzed briefly based on some fault cases.(2) A few of common high-performance COTS components are chosen,including NOR FLASH, NAND FLASH, MRAM and two kinds of power supply chip as optional device under test in this research.(3) Taking TMS570LS3137 as the core, the paper has finished the hardware and software design of test control system made up of COTS components to prevent single event effect.(4) Besides, it also has achieved anti irradiation experiment in the simulation of space radiation environment.(5) According to the experimental data in the anti irradiation experiment, some suggestions for use of COTS components are given.
